Mr. Bits & Bytes was started as a part-time business
in Rio Rancho, NM in 2000. It was originally named MR. Bits & MR.
Bytes when the 'M' in MR. was the initials of the first name of Mark
Reid and the "R" was for Richard Holderbaugh.
After Reid was laid off from Gate-way, Inc. in Rio
Rancho and then Holderbaugh was laid off from Intel Corporation,
they went their separate ways. During this time our economy in the
technological field was dimin-ishing. Quite a few Dot.com compa-nies
were going under and closing their online stores. Reid started
an-other business leaving Holderbaugh with the ownership of Mr. Bits
& Bytes.
Holderbaugh had received a grant
from the State of New Mexico to learn the new technologies that were
being created for the internet. When Holderbaugh visited his family
in Jackson, there was a high demand for his knowledge and expertise
in this business. After his relocation to Mis-souri he was given a
Bootstrap Grant specifically to restart his business full time in
Missouri.
